If you simply read vega-starsaustralia.com, the site keeps one thing in your browser: a local storage entry called rn_ck, set to 1 when you press OK on the cookie banner, so the banner stays away on the pages that follow. Cloudflare, the network that serves and shields the site, may add a short-lived security cookie such as __cf_bm, which expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. Analytics and advertising trackers play no part here.
What follows applies to this guide only. For casino facts instead of browser storage, return to our Vegastars online casino Australia guide.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to hold on to. Your browser returns them with later requests to the same site, and that’s how a site knows you’re logged in or have already cleared a security check. They may be set by the site in front of you or by another service it relies on.
Local storage reaches a similar result by another route. A site saves a small piece of data inside your browser, where it remains until you clear it. It isn’t attached to every request the way a cookie is; only the page’s own scripts can read it, on your device. That’s precisely why our banner note lives in local storage. It never leaves your browser.
Everything this site may store
Every item that might turn up in your browser while you use vega-starsaustralia.com is in the table. For most readers that means the first row alone, with a Cloudflare cookie on some visits.
| Name | Type and who sets it | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| rn_ck | Local storage, this site | Records that you pressed OK on the cookie banner (value: 1) | Until you clear site data |
| __cf_bm | Cookie, Cloudflare (may be set) | Helps tell real visitors from bots | Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity |
| cf_clearance | Cookie, Cloudflare (may be set) | Shows that you passed a Cloudflare security check, so it isn’t repeated | Set by Cloudflare’s security settings |
| wordpress_[hash], wordpress_logged_in_[hash] | Cookies, WordPress, administrators only | Keep site editors signed in to the dashboard | Browser session, or 14 days with “Remember Me” |
| wp-settings-[ID], wp-settings-time-[ID] | Cookies, WordPress, administrators only | Remember an editor’s dashboard layout | 1 year |
| wordpress_test_cookie | Cookie, WordPress, login screen only | Checks the browser accepts cookies before an editor logs in | Temporary |

Cloudflare security cookies
Cloudflare stands between your browser and our server. With its bot protection switched on it may set __cf_bm, and once you’ve passed a security check it may set cf_clearance. Cloudflare treats both as strictly necessary, since their job is keeping automated traffic off the site, and neither serves advertising. Routing and protecting each request also involves Cloudflare processing your IP address, which our privacy policy covers.
WordPress cookies
WordPress powers the site, and its login and dashboard cookies are created only when someone signs in to manage it. There are no reader accounts, so readers never sign in, and none of these cookies will show up in your browser.
Google Fonts
Fonts come from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com as ordinary file downloads, and this site sets no cookie for them. The request does hand Google your IP address along with your browser’s user agent, which needs them to deliver the files and handles that data under its own privacy policy.
What we don’t use
Analytics software isn’t part of the site. Neither are advertising pixels, remarketing tags or tracking scripts, and nobody here profiles what you read. For the same reason the banner comes without a settings panel full of switches. Each item above is either technically necessary or a note about the banner itself, so pressing OK just hides the notice.
How to manage cookies in your browser
Deleting or blocking every item in the table won’t break the guide. All major browsers let you do it from their privacy settings:
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Site settings, then “View permissions and data stored across sites”. Search for vega-starsaustralia.com and delete its data. The Privacy and security section also has the option to block third-party cookies.
- Safari on Mac: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data. Find the site and choose Remove.
- Safari on iPhone and iPad: Settings, then Safari (under Apps on newer iOS versions), then Advanced, then Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data, then Manage Data.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then “Manage and delete cookies and site data”.
Since browsers wipe local storage along with cookies, clearing site data gets rid of the rn_ck note too. Private and incognito windows keep nothing once you close them.
What changes if you block them
Every page of the guide still loads and reads as usual. You may notice two differences. The cookie banner returns on your next visit, because the browser has forgotten that you closed it, and Cloudflare may show its security check more often when it can’t store __cf_bm or cf_clearance.
Links to the Vegastars website
On the Vegastars website, which our buttons lead to, the casino places its own cookies and runs them under its own cookie and privacy policies. This page has no bearing on them. You can manage them through the browser settings listed above, applied to the casino’s address, or with the casino’s own tools.
Changes and contact
Anything we add or remove that stores data in your browser appears in the table here first, before the change reaches the site. Server logs, emails and the rest of the wider picture are covered in the Vegastars guide privacy policy.
